The U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution




“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness” (Jefferson 1).  



            This quote reflects primarily the words of Thomas Jefferson. The congress chose five men to write the declaration of independence, but Jefferson wrote the first draft.  Some of the leaders that worked toward the USA independence were Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklyn, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston (History.com 1).  This text proclaims the Independence of the thirteen colonies from the Great Britain. It declares the rules and the regimen in which Americans used to live.

            This quote reflects the persecution and the deprivation that Americans used to live. It reflects the British laws and exploitation of work that Americans were exposed. There was not equality, there was a lot of racism involved and slavery. The thirteen colonies were run by the Britain government. Americans had not freedom to speak for themselves, and there’re not equal rights. The Britain government violated rules and laws. A lot of Americans were killed, discriminated and exploited.  Furthermore, this quote reflects despair, desire for independence and happiness. It relates that all men are created equal with only one creator, which I believe is God (Jefferson 1).


This declaration text was written to the supreme judge of the world. This act declared the thirteen colonies free of the British ‘s rules and governance (Jefferson 1).  Then, these were declared the thirteen independent states of the United States.  Which are, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island (History.com 2). Also, after the independence of U.S., the constitution of U.S. was written.  It suggests the rules and the laws in which the United States should be governed. It constitutes of seven articles and different sections of laws and rules that each state must follow.
